This year, The View from The Shard is celebrating its 10th year anniversary. Someone who has been with us from the very start of our journey is Hapey Begum. Hapey has worked with us since we opened our doors on the 1st February 2013 and is one of our lovely guest ambassadors.

We had the pleasure of catching up with her this week to discuss her experience at The View from The Shard.

What is your first memory of The View from The Shard?
My first memory of working at The View from The Shard was the day we had our grand opening. Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London at the time, opened The Shard with large scissors and we even had a visit from Her Majesty The Queen. Everyone was very joyful that this wonderful building was now open and they were taking in the stunning views for the very first time.

What is your favourite view?
This is so dependent on numerous things. I love the fact that every time I go up to The View from The Shard there is something new and different to look at – buildings are constantly popping up on the London skyline! I also love the fact that the view changes based upon the weather and time of day. Sunset is my favourite time to experience the stunning views.
What is your favourite part of working for The View from The Shard?
I love meeting our lovely guests. Socialising with the guests and meeting people from all walks of life and cultures has always been something that I have loved. I also love the team culture we have, The View from The Shard have become my second family and I always feel looked after and very supported. Since working at The View from The Shard I have had three children, and my team are always willing to jump in and help out wherever possible to allow me to have more family time!
Happy 10th year work anniversary Hapey! We are so glad to have you as part of our team.
