Pancakes aren’t just for Shrove Tuesday. In fact Pancakes are delicious all year round and eating them in the shadow of The Shard is flipping amazing. Shrove Tuesday is the annual day in which people attempt to whip up pancakes for their loved ones but usually end up with a ceiling full of pancake mixture instead! This day originated as pancakes were an effective way of using up the remainder of your fats and eggs before taking on the challenge of the Lenten fasting period leading up to Easter. Nowadays, Pancake Day is mainly an excuse to overindulge because lets face it, everything is better with pancakes. Recently, pancakes have become a more luxurious treat with restaurants going above and beyond to create the perfect treat. So with this in mind, here are the best places to munch on a big stack of pancakes in the shadow of the Shard:

They also provide yummy alternatives for those with intolerances, they can whip up vegan, dairy and wheat free batter. The view from this restaurant is what makes it though, overlooking The Shard get your pancake fix before venturing to The View from The Shard to admire London’s finest view. The Breakfast Club London Bridge:
This American-inspired restaurant often attracts large queues, however it is more than worth the wait. Their team are experts when it comes to making pancakes and in 2019 alone served up 928,000 fluffy pancakes (which, if stacked up, would reach our open air sky deck level of The Shard… thirty times). Their eccentric décor makes it a fun and instagrammable spot! They have branches across London, but our favourite is based in London Bridge a small walk away from The Shard!
